Sunday, July 5 - China, Circus and Cupcakes: A Day to "C" things

“We live in a wonderful world that is full of beauty, charm and adventure. There is no end to the adventures we can have if only we seek them with our eyes open.” - Jawaharial Nehru

After spending the morning working on our podcasts, two of us decided to go over to Chinatown for an authentic Chinese meal. We walked past ducks, squid, eels, and various other mysteries in the windows of dozens of restaurants. We finally sat down and ate our lunch quite leisurely.

Seeing that we were just a few blocks from Picadilly Circus, we strolled over there, checking out a few of the cheesy souvenir shops along the way. We also passed several Michael Jackson tributes, with a very large one at the theater that is hosting "Thriller" -- a Michael Jackson impersonator show.

After that, we turned back towards our flat, navigating our way to a pastry shop called "Candy Cakes." (See photo). The cupcake was very overpriced (3 pounds 95 pence) but it was quite an experience to sit on the sidewalk of London eating and listening to all the "oohs" and "ahs" of the people who were browsing the window behind us. We took our time, savoring our day of leisure.
